The Ghana Football Association says it is exploring ways to elevate the profile of the Women’s League by using their games as a prelude to Ghana Premier League matches.
According to the GFA, the move will form part of the association’s plans to make women’s football more attractive in Ghana.
General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, made these comments at a press conference on Wednesday ahead of the resumption of the Women’s Premier League.
“We are also exploring to see if we can get some of the matches as curtain raisers for the men’s game.” Prosper Harrison said.
“I know there are various challenges there, sometimes the men are not welcoming, we understand but we will continue to push that agenda because it is only right that we have some of these matches are curtain raisers.”
The Women’s Premier League returns for the second half of the season from January, 27, 2023, with Matchday 7 action.
Holders Ampem Darkoa Ladies are leading the table in the Northern Zone with 16 points while Former Champions Hasaacas Ladies are top of the Southern Zone with 16 points after 7 matches.
