Former GFA Boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi has disclosed that, his former football administrators at the Ghana Football Association wanted him out of his seat and for that matter, paid Tiger EYE Pi team to target and damage him.
Nyantakyi, who is serving a life ban from all football-related activities by Fifa, was emphatic FA officials against him paid Tiger Eye PI $400, 000 to blackmail him in Africa’s biggest football scandal.
“The project is a sponsored project, The people at GFA who didn’t like me paid 400,000 to blackmail me,” Nyantakyi pointed out in a Net2 TV interview.
Kwesi Nyantakyi became the President of the GFA in 2005 after succeeding Nyaho Tamakloe. He had occupied the seat for the past 13years before an investigation was carried on him by Tiger Eye Pi team which led to his ban by FIFA from all football-related activities.
The said investigation (Number 12) was aired on the 6th of June 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre and in the video, Kwesi Nyantakyi was seen in the video taking $65,000 (£48,000) a figure which has consistently disputed from an undercover reporter.
According to FIFA, the act by Nyantakyi broke its code of ethics and the Adjudicatory Committee found him guilty of having violated Article 19 (Conflict of Interest), Article 21 (Bribery and corruption) and Article 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.
