The Ghana Football Association has handed a 5-match ban and GHC2000 fine to Aduana Stars winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi.
This comes after the GFA Disciplinary Committee found the 28-year-old guilty of sporting misconduct against Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare.
The incident occurred during a betPawa Premier League game at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park at Dormaa on 1st January 2023.
Although the referee missed the action, Gyamfi was charged for intentionally stamping the keeper of his former club in an off-ball situation in the 31st minute of the match.
The winger pleaded guilty in his written statement for mitigation as he indicated that his improper action was in response to a stamp on his ankle by the Kotoko goalkeeper Fredrick Asare, whom he felt was endangering his career.
Gyamfi will now miss Aduana Stars league matches against Dreams FC, Nsotreman FC, Bechem United, Hearts of Oak, and the MTN FA Cup Round of 16.
He has been warned that any future misconduct may result in more severe punishment.
