A number of Ghanaian stars have earned nominations for this year’s All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMAs) to take place from December 8–11.
The artistes are Kweku The Traveller hitmaker, Black Sherif, KiDi, Camidoh, Diana Hamilton, Amaarae, Nektunez and Gyakie.
Black Sherif leads the Ghanaian nominees with four nominations out of Ghana’s nine in the 39 categories.
He was nominated in the Song of the Year, Best Male Artiste in Western Africa and Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Hip-Hop two times.
AFRIMA is a collaborative effort by music industry professionals from all over the continent to honour the rich heritage of Africa’s music.
It also appreciates young artistes by giving them a stage to display their abilities to the rest of the world.
The public voting period for the 2022 AFRIMA opens on Sunday, September 25 at 11 a.m. GMT and closes on December 10 at 2 p.m. GMT, prior to the awards ceremony’s main night.
A special announcement will be made regarding the host nation and venue of the AFRIMA on September 30.
Burnaboy from Nigeria, Diamond Platinumz from Tanzania, Black Sherif from Ghana, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran are among the notable nominees for this year’s edition of the AFRIMA.
