After Ghana and Nigeria finished first and second respectively in Heat 2 of the Men’s 4 x 100 Metre Relay Race to book their spots in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, athletes from the countries celebrated together.
Southern African nations Botswana and South Africa qualified to the Olympic Games in the Men’s 4×400 Metre Relay and athletes from the countries formed a huddle to celebrate qualification.
Ghana beat Nigeria to first place in the race with a time of 38.29 seconds which is an improvement of Team Ghana’s mark at the 2023 African Games that fetched Ghana the silver medal.
