A train which derailed at Alajo on Monday has triggered the Ghana Railway Company to suspend the Tema to Accra shuttle.
The temporary shutdown will affect at most 700 passengers who commute via the train.
Not less than 5 passengers were injured in the accident.
Despite the accident, some commuters still desire transporting via train due to the limited time it takes to reach a destination and its low cost.
The passengers who are displeased with the shutdown told THE PUBLISHER that they have been redirected to use motor vehicle transport due to the shutdown.
However, the Minister for Railways Development, Joe Ghartey, has formed a 3-member committee to investigate the cause of the accident.
The committee, which is being chaired by the Deputy Railways Minister, Kwaku Agyenim-Boateng, is to complete work and present a report by November 6th, 2017.
