Ghanaian media are blind on talents – Article Wan

Although he made a big bang with his song, Solo in 2016, which enjoyed a lot of airplay, for Afro pop artiste, Article Wan, the fight to prove his worth as a talented artiste has not been felt well.

This is because, though people jammed to the song, which earned him two nominations at the 2016 edition of the Ghana Music Awards, his capabilities has not been regarded that well by the Industry players.

According to Article Wan, it is disheartening in respect to the fact that, the Industry does not regard much of his talent.

Speaking in an interview with Halifax Ansah-Addo on the ‘Best Entertainment Show’ Wednesday morning, the Faya Burn Dem singer said there’s less of support in the entertainment Industry for musicians and creative persons.

”In everything you do, there are challenges but sometimes the support is not really there. Sometimes Ghanaians are blind, the Industry sometimes I feel are blind on real talents. I won’t talk for myself alone, we have a lot of artistes on the street that when the Industry gives them the support, I tell you Halifax, you’ll forget about certain names.

”When the said street artists are working and you’re behind watching them, you’ll feel that, yes they are working really hard but the support is not there. Some of the artistes are working more than the recognition, the Industry personnels are playing unlooking on us” he said.

His comments seem to make perceptions that the music industry is unfriendly to certain artistes and the old student of Kinbu Secondary School says such actions must not be encouraged.

”The Industry is made up of artists, radio presenters, tv, the whole media, the streets, the fans. They know the talent is there but they are refusing to help. The fans are really doing what they can do but I think some people in the media are not being supportive. And even some of our artists are also blind” he added.

Article Wan is known for other songs such as That Thing, Halleluyah, Medofo, Yen Papi, Elavanyo, Chop Chop among others.
