Ghanaian Sprinter Sean Safo-Antwi Loses Father
The father of Ghanaian sprinter Sean Safo-Antwi has died, 14 days to the start of the 2018 Commonwealth Games next month in Australia.
Safo-Antwi who has indicated his readiness for the start of the Commonwealth Games on April 4 revealed that he lost his father died on Wednesday, March 21 at 2pm in an emotional post on Instagram.
He posted: “Can’t believe it’s been 1 week already, Wednesday 21st Of March at 2pm I lost my Dad, May your Soul Rest In Perfect Peace!! Until We Meet Again Pops! RIP Dad… Love you Big Man! ❤️?? Now your in a better place and heaven has gained another great angel ?. God Gives His Toughest Battles To His Strongest Soldiers. Always Stay Strong! Safo-Antwi made the final of the men’s 60metre event (at the just-ended IAAF Indoor Athletics Championships) finishing in seventh place will be hoping to grab a medal in the 100metre and 4×100 metre races at the Commonwealth Games between April 4, 2018 – April 15, 2018.
Sean Safo-Antwi (born 31 January 1990) is a Ghanaian sprinter. He competed for Great Britain before switching allegiance to Ghana in early 2016, a move that was not opposed by the British Federation.
He was due to represent Ghana for the first time at the 2016 World Indoor Championships but was withdrawn at the last minute. In 2016 he represented Ghana in the 100 metres at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
