Ghanaians appreciate DEAD than LIVING – REV lSAAC GYAMFI

The District pastor of the Agape Evangelical Church in Dormaa Ahenkro of the Brong Ahafo Region ,Rev Isaac Gyamfi , has taken a jab at  Ghanaians for placing a premium on the dead over the living observing that it is one of the reasons why the country is not making any progress.

According to Rev Isaac Gyamfi ,no efforts is made in appreciating efforts of the living but once such a person dies, there are attempts especially by the affluent and person who matter to contribute significantly towards the funeral among other things.

According to him,when someone is alive we do not try to appreciate the person but once he/she is dead we try to show much care.

He made this known to Peacefm correspondent oteng Apau of Dormaa fm when the church presented citations to the good citizens who has help Dormaa Community in Dormaa Ahenkro.Cue..Rev Isaac Gyamfi.

This talk from the District Pastor comes after reality on the ground has been drawn to the celebration of some session of the Ghanaian populace having for the dead over the living.

He believes most people appreciate and overall value dead than the living that deserve much attention and care for betterment.

Those who received the the citation also expressed their gratitude the Agape church.

About Isaac K. Gyamfi 

Isaac K. Gyamfi is a development practitioner, with over 26 years of post-graduation experience in projects and programmes design, implementation management, feasibility and impact assessment and resource allocation. He was the Regional Director of Solidaridad West Africa, which is part of a Global Network Organization – Solidaridad Network Foundation (www.solidaridadnetwork.org) that facilitates the development of socially responsible, ecologically sound and profitable supply chains towards sustainable and inclusive economies.

He holds a Masters Degree in Development Planning and Management from the University of Dortmund – Germany, a Post Gradate Diploma in Spatial Planning and combined Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Sociology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of Ghana respectively.

Until his current positon he was the Country Representative and doubled as the Country Manager for a cocoa industry supported program in West Africa – the Sustainable Tree Crops Program (STCP) managed through the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), a CGIAR centre. He served as the Programme Manager for a USAID Title II funded programme for northern Ghana – Food Security and Outreach Services Initiative for 4 years.

He was the Deputy of Chief of Party (Operations) for Abt Associates, a US-based for-profit organisation in the implementation of the Infectious Disease Surveillance and Mutual Health Insurance Project in Ghana. He has enormous experience in managing, implementing and monitoring several programmes funded by international development investors and private companies. These include USAID, EU, KfW, World Cocoa Foundations, Mars Inc., ADM and Cargill. He has worked at different senior management capacities in Ghana’s public sector – specifically the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

He understands and promotes public-private partnerships as one mechanism to introduce, test and validate innovations to enhance climate-smart agricultural production systems, market efficiencies, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, landscape management, institutional and inclusive policy reforms and impact investments.
