Ghanaians Criticise without Merit – Kwesi Appiah
Coach Kwesi Appiah has defended his style of play concerning the senior National team in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
According to him, topping Group F making the Black stars unbeaten in three matches depends on his style of play in the tournament.
“People always talk when things don’t seem to be going the way they want, but I’ve always believed in this team,” head coach Kwesi Appiah said at the post match press conference.
Appiah has remained the most vilified man in Ghana in the last few days. While it is permissible to criticize the decision of head coaches everywhere, what has often been thrown in the direction of the former Ghana captain is anything but criticism. It’s mostly been sheer abuse, communicated with asperity of prohibitive degrees.
This Coach Appiah describes as an unfair treatment adding that, his selection of players and tactics concerning every match are base on his believe and cautious optimism.
“Each game has its own characteristics and requires different approaches at different times,” Appiah said in response to whether an Afriyie Acquah and Mubarak Wakaso double pivot will be employed for future games.
However the stars are to face Tunisia in the round of 16.
The game will take place on Monday, July 8 at the Ismailia Stadium in Ismailia, where Ghana has been based since the start of the tournament.
