Ghanaians Deserve Apology from Otiko – Chairman Wontumi
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako, known as in the political circle as ‘Chairman Wontumi’, has called on the Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba, to apologize to President Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana over her rejection of appointment.
Chairman Wontumi said, Madam Otiko Djaba has disrespected the President the people of Ghana by her decision to reject the appointment offered him by the President.
In the recent Ministerial reshuffle, which was President Akufo-Addo’s first ever since he assumed the throne as the President of Ghana in January 7, 2016, the former Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister was given an international appointment as the Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy.
But she rejected the appointment with an excuse that she wants a break and have time for his family after a long time in politics.
Reacting to the rejections on Accra based Neat FM on Monday, Chairman Wontumi said several people have been loyal to the President but they do not fight for post and but she got an ambassadorial position and all she can do is to reject it and claim her husband is sick.
He is disappointed that she rejected the position after she was chosen out of many who were equally qualified and worked hard for the party to come to power.
Chairman Wontumi said apologizing to the President and the people of Ghana will heal wounds.
