Ghana’s economy managed by armed robbers under NPP – Adongo
Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo says the economy of the country is currently being managed by armed robbers under the administration of the Akufo-Addo government.
Speaking in an interview on Metro TV, the member of Parliament’s Finance Committee questioned the credibility of the financial sector clean-up carried out by the Bank of Ghana.
To him, government’s decision to close down banks in the country is the most wicked move in the entire world considering the fact that government could have intervened to avoid the total closure of the banks.
He said, “Ghana’s Finance sector is now managed by Piccadilly armed robbers who walk around in white dresses and quote from the bible so they get defended even if they are at fault because people see them to be righteous. Ofori Atta was flocking with his peers Kwabena Duffour, Ndoum and others but because he’s now in power, he is known as a saint whiles his peers he was flocking with are now seen as dirty.”
As part of the BoG’s clean-up of the financial space, it revoked the licences of nine universal banks, 347 microfinance companies of which 155 had already ceased operations, 39 microcredit companies or money lenders, 15 savings and loans companies, eight finance house companies, and two non-bank financial institutions.
