Ghana’s Premier Ride Hailing Service Launched
The country in recent times have been inundated with a number of ride hailing services, a move to beef up the commercial transportation deficit within the capital, Accra.
With about 6 new ride hailing services currently operating in Ghana, “Dropyn” is however the only pride of Ghana. Dropyn is wholly Ghanaian owned, managed and operated by young team of Ghanaians.
From the App developer to the sales executive, are all Ghanaians poised to make a difference in the technology based transportation system.
On Monday 12th August, 2019, Dropyn was officially launched to commence operations in Accra. The launch saw a gathering of media men, drivers, officials and film celebrities to witness the historic press launch.
At the launch, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abraham Angelo indicated that Dropyn was his way of contributing to improve the economic lives of drivers and bring utmost affordability, convenience, security and comfort of riders through Dropyn. Currently, they about 50 saloon cars in the system.
He underpinned that Dropyn’s unique selling propositions have been carefully analyzed to suite both the driver and the rider. Driver would be placed on work-n-pay, which means drivers would get to own the Dropyn cars after 2-years of full payment.
Speaking at the launch, the Operations Manager, Mr. Evans Omane-Boateng indicated that Dropyn has a rewarding scheme for drivers and riders. Drivers can have the opportunity to switch between either a driver or a rider as the case maybe.
More so, drivers and riders get to build loyalty points and receive cash after referring other drivers and riders to come on-board Dropyn and register. He also mentioned that Dropyn has 4 unique functions;
- Private Ride hailing services
- Ride sharing services allows riders to save money by sharing ride with other riders on the same route.
Other services to be available soon
- Move: Here, customers can request for a truck or mini truck to move logistics, home appliances, etc. from one location to the other.
- Delivery: With Dropyn Delivery, customers get to enjoy the best of favorite restaurants, shops and grocery stores right from the comfort of their homes. It gives customers the access to hundreds of menus with quick delivery at all times, track orders and make payments on the App easily with no third party hassle.
Responding to the issue of efficiency, Mr. Gerhard Malah, one of the App developers and IT support unit, mentioned that the system has been tried and tested, therefore, the App will pose no safety or malfunctioning threat to the service and the users in general.
The lead consultant of Dropyn Mr. Nana Brew encouraged Ghanaians to fully support and promote our own. Since Dropyn is wholly Ghanaian, profits will not be repatriated to foreign countries like all the other competing ride hailing services.
He also mentioned that Dropyn’s model is design to create jobs for the Ghanaian youth while bridging the commercial transportation gap in the city.
Touching on security for ride sharing, Nana Brew hinted that the drivers at Dropyn are all well trained and have their personal identities data captured in our central system.
All the cars used for Dropyn are well monitored real time with up to date tracking systems. Mr Brew said the Dropyn was the cheapest to find on the market due to the company’s expertise in the development of applications.
At the climax of the event, actor and comedy icon Richard Asante (Kalybos) and Priscilla Opoku Agyeman (Ahuorfe Patri) were unveiled as Brand Ambassadors for Dropyn Raide Hailing Services.
