President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked residents of the newly created Western North Region to renew his mandate so his government can consolidate the gains chalked since his assumption of office.
Speaking at a meeting with the Western North Regional House of Chiefs during his tour of the region, the President noted that Ghanaians have had an opportunity to witness at first hand the impact of the policies and programmes implemented by his Government.
According to him, residents of the Western North Region should vote massively for him and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for fulfilling majority of the promises he made to them ahead of the 2016 elections.
“You voted for me in 2016 because you trusted and believed in me. I made a promise to you, which is the creation of a region for you. That has been done and it gives me the courage to stand in front of you again to ask for another four years.” he said.
Touching on the ongoing projects, he stated that 203 ongoing projects comprise, amongst others, 81 in the educational sector, 20 in the health sector, 4 in the roads sector, and 46 in the water and sanitation sector
“With four more for Nana and the NPP, we will do even more for you,” he said, to rapturous applause from Members of the House.
With respect to the newly created Houses of Chiefs, and, indeed, to all the Houses of Chiefs across the country, the President assured that Government will continue to support the Chieftaincy institution so it can be strong and resilient.
“Six new office complex and bungalows would be provided the six new Regional Houses of Chiefs. Additionally, as I have said, we would strive to give to the institution the requisite support to resolve chieftaincy matters, and carry out research in the many areas of relevance to curb chieftaincy related conflicts,” he added.
