Zylofon Signee Livingtone Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy has been adjudged as the Artiste of the Year at the maiden edition of Ghana Music Awards South Africa.
The Dancehall Artist was crowned ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the awards ceremony held at the Ebony Lounge in Pretoria.
The artiste won against his strong contender’s Shatta Wale, late Dancehall songstress Ebony Reigns, Patapaa Amisty, young sensation Kuami Eugene and others.
Apart from Stonebwoy who won the artiste of the year, Shatta Wale also received the dancehall song of the year while late Ebony Reigns was represented by her father won Reggae dancehall of the year.
Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene emerged ‘Highlife Artiste of the Year’ with Joyce Blessing winning Gospel Artiste of the Year.
Other big acts who won at the night are Best Rapper of the Year – Strongman Burner, BEST COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR ARTICLE WAN X PATAPAA (THAT THING) , BEST MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR, KING PROMISE among several others.
The night saw some great performances from both Ghanaian, Nigerian and South African musicians like Article Wan,Praye Honeho, Quata Budukusu, Maccacio and many others.
Ghana Music Awards South Africa is a major yearly music festival of the Ghanaian community based in South Africa.
The aim is to celebrate and award individuals and corporate excellence within the entertainment industry amongst the Ghanaian Community in South Africa.
This year’s event was sponsored by Coca Cola Company.
