GNPC foundation boss lauds Napo

Dominic Eduah, the Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, has described Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as a development-oriented leader.

He said Dr. Prempeh nicknamed as ‘Napo’, has the interest of his constituency at heart, therefore nothing could stop him from seeking the transformation of his area.

“Napo is an amazing leader, who is desirous to develop his constituency; he constantly called me, sometimes at dawn, to ensure that this project came into fruition”, Dominic Eduah when speaking at the handing over ceremony of an ultramodern astro turf park project.

Located at the Konadu Yiadom Basic School in the Manhyia South Constituency, Blag Ghana Ltd constructed the project at the cost of a staggering US$ 300,000.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with able support from the Manhyia South MP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, appealed to the GNPC Foundation to develop the park.

Dominic Eduah said his outfit responded positively to the appeal of the Asante King, stressing that the park would help the country to unearth more football talents in future.

The GNPC Foundation Boss, who also handed over the park to Otumfuo’s representative, Nana Kwaku Duah, the Kokosohene, praised the contractor for a beautiful work.

Nana Kwaku Duah, in his succinct remarks, said Napo has plans to build sitting stands around the park so that the park would be complete and meet international standards.

According to him, Ghana boasts of countless football talents therefore the construction of astro turfs across the country would help the youth to develop their talents.

Eddie Dankwa, the CEO Blag Ghana Ltd, the contractors for the project, said the facility boasts of floodlights, metal fencing and a FIFA certified grass big-sized football park.

Significantly, Nana Owusu Afriyie, Otumfuo Apagyahene, who is highly respected in Asanteman, played an important role to ensure the successful construction of the park.
