Former British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, has revealed that he is the godfather of Shatta Movement owned by dancehall sensation Shatta Wale.
The British diplomat has been a die-hard fan of the self-acclaimed dancehall king. In confirming his love for Shatta Wale, Jon Benjamin in a recent tweet disclosed that he is the godather of Shatta Movement.
Jon Benjamin was replying to a tweet by an SM who tagged him as the father of Shatta Movement. He then tweeted,“I’m actually the Shatta Movement godfather.”
The tweet has been well received by fans of the Gringo hitmaker who are heaping praise on the former High Commissioner to Ghana.
Shatta Wale and Mr Benjamin have been good friends for quite some time and this tweet is not really much of a surprise since the diplomay has on a number of occasions defended Shatta Wale on social media for some of his actions.
He has on one or two occasions defended Shatta Wale on social media ; it goes as much to tell followers and majority of populance of the friendship bond between the two.
It could be recalled that , after John Benjamin was replaced by a new HIgh Commissioner Iain Walker , a picture of Jon Benjamin and Shatta Wale drinking beer together popped up on the internet. That picture really caused a stir on social media.
Since leaving the country, Jon Benjamin has consistently commented about issues in the country and is noted for trolling actor John Dumelo. Apart from entertainment, Jon Benjamin has on several occasions expressed his views about politics in Ghana..
Mr Benjamin isn’t shy to speak his mind and although he has incurred the wrath of some Ghanaians with some of his tweets, he is not fazed and still posts his candid views on issues.
