‘Govt Committed to Youth Entrepreneurship’
Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said the Akufo-Addo government is committed to creating the enabling environment for private businesses to thrive.
According to him, no matter what the business idea one proposes, if the enabling environment is absent, that idea will not materialise, hence, government’s resolve to build an environment where the business can survive.
Speaking at a Youth Entrepreneurship Forum in Accra on Friday, 23 March, Dr Bawumia said: “Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo deeply appreciates that at a time others thought it was easier to sit down and wait for jobs, we have these cohorts of Ghanaians mainly youthful Ghanaians who have made hard choices and stand on their feet.
“Since coming into government, one of our priority focus is to encourage entrepreneurship, especially among the youth.
“We are of the firm belief that when you are young and creative and the jobs are not out there, your creative adrenalin becomes restless and nothing can replace the feeling of earning an income just by your own efforts.”
He added: “As part of our efforts to encourage you to do more, government is working around the clock, to create the necessary environment for businesses to thrive.
“No matter what your enthusiasm is, if the business environment is not conducive, it makes it very difficult for you to realise your dreams.”
