Government of Ghana led by President Akufo-Addo has presented 105 saloon cars to the Ghana Police service as part of efforts to provide better service for the country’s security .
The vehicles – Toyota Corolla and Camry – were presented to the police at its headquarters in Accra on Wednesday by a Deputy Minister of Information Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei on behalf of the government.
She said due to advancement in technology, there is always an upsurge of crime so there is the need for the Police to be given logistical support to deliver on its mandate.
In her brief remark to hand over the cars, Nana Dokua said the government recognizes that the Police need logistical support to tackle the upsurge in crime triggered by the advancement in technology.
She added that 95 more of the vehicles would be arriving in Ghana for the Police, making a total of 200 cars.
Receiving the vehicles, the Director-General /Public Affairs Directorate, ACP David Senanu Eklu stated that the vehicles will enhance Police operations and expressed gratitude to government in help to provide better security service for the good people of Ghana.
