Gov’t official one in Airbus scandal is Mahama – Afia Schwar hints

Comedienne Afia Schwarzenegger has tagged former President John Mahama and some other former government officials as persons who were behind the corrupt practices while in government in respect to the Airbus deal.

According to her, Mahama was the brain behind several corrupt deals whiles in government before the 2016 general elections saying his silence about the Airbus saga for several days the incident broke into the airwaves proved he is guilty of corruption.

Speaking on Angel 102.9 FM Thursday morning monitored by thepublisheronline.com, Afia Schwar pleaded with Ghanaians to reject voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) come December 7 in order to avoid any similar corrupt practices in the future.

“I have heard some NDC people saying excavators have been lost in this administration, but what were you expecting? You never wanted continuation when guinea fowls got lost in your administration? You people are coming to say excavators, should we talk about government official one?  I’m sure you  people are not ready for this debate. The surname of the government official one is MAH… ” she said.

The Airbus scandal involved the sale of some aircraft to some countries by the planemaker, Airbus SE, with the help of intermediaries that essentially influenced key decision-makers in those countries so that Airbus SE could sell the aircraft.

Earlier this year the company entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) with the Serious Fraud Office of the UK to avoid criminal prosecution. In court documents on Ghana, it stated in coded names a number of government officials who were involved in negotiations leading to the purchase of some military aircraft by Ghana’s government.

The Interpol of Ghana days after issued arrest warrant for Samuel Adams Mahama, a cousin of President Mahama who is said to have played a lead role in the Airbus saga.

But the opposition NDC rubbished it as a political motivated move by the sinking Akufo-Addo government.
