Gov’t to Launch Restoration of Allowance for Nursing Trainees
Government has announced it will on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, launch the restoration of the monthly allowance for trainee nurses.
The allowance which was cancelled by the Mahama administration in 2014 became a key element of the Akufo-Addo campaign igniting interest among nurses and parents.
A statement announcing the launch said “The ministry of health wishes to inform all student nurses, midwives, as well as any other category of students in all public health training institutions and the general public of the impending launch of the restoration of the nurse/midwife training allowance.
“The launch is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the nursing and midwifery training school at Sunyani, Brong Ahafo region at 9 am”.
President Akufo-Addo will be the special guest of honour at the launch.
