Govt’s Have Neglected Kumasi …Odike Booms
KUMASI, THE capital of Ashanti Region, has been likened to a village due several years of neglect by various governments.
The United Progressive Party (UPP) leader, Akwasi Addai aka ‘Odike’, making the observation, said Kumasi has remained standstill for years.
He blamed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) governments for being the cause of lack of transformation in Kumasi.
According to Odike, both the NDC and NPP governments have done a great disservice to to the people of Ashanti Region, notably Kumasi, for so many years.
He said on radio that the NDC sees Kumasi as a stronghold for the opposition political party, therefore the NDC doesn’t see the need to transform Kumasi when in government.
On the other hand, Odike said the NPP also believe that whether they develop Kumasi or not, the people love the NPP so they would still vote for the party during elections.
“Now when you compare Kumasi to Accra in terms of developmental projects, you will see that Kumasi has gradually become a big village.
“Kumasi has not experienced any meaningful developmental project for so many years and I blame the NDC and NPP for Kumasi’s woes.
“All the road networks in Kumasi have expired and the city is looking like an old big city and Kumasi doesn’t deserve this”, Odike, a resident of Kumasi, lamented.
He therefore entreated the people of Kumasi to vote massively for the UPP during next year’s presidential elections to bring meaningful development to the city.
