The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the approval of fans to return to the various stadia for both local and international sporting events.
The decision comes after several deliberations with the Ghana Football Association, The National Covid-19 Task Force and the Ministry of Sports.
The GFA have been tasked with ensuring that the directive is strictly followed, with all COVID-19 protocol enforced.
The new directive was contained in a statement released by the Ministry of Sports.
“As a result the Ghana Football Association has been directed to put in place mechanisms to ensure that games are played in a safe environment to ensure the safety of spectators,” the statement said.
The statement continued, “For the avoidance of doubt, these conditions of issue apply to the purchase, holding and use of GFA match day tickets.”
“The Ghana Football Association/or its authorized distributors (if any) sells and issues tickets for matches at the Ground only upon the following Conditions of Issue and by purchasing, holding or using a Match Ticket or entering the Ground, any person who has applied for, bought, accepted or holds a Match Ticket shall be deemed to have accepted these Conditions of Issue”.
The Sports Ministry, in March, approved the return of fans to the various stadia, but reversed their decision on the eve of the start of the Ghana Premier League second round.
