Great Olympics And GFA Back in Court on Thursday, March 29
Accra Great Olympic and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) would head back to the court on Thursday, March 29.
This would come a week after the Accra High Court 2’s dismissed an application for a mandatory injunction on the Ghana Premier League (GPL) by Olympics.
A member of the counsel for Great Olympics, Mr. Kofi Bentil told the GNA Sports, after their failed application for mandatory injunction on the GPL, said they have not lost the case and were still in court.
He said the substantive issue Olympics had with the GFA was in the Appeals Court and was not touched in the High Court hearing.
Mr Bentil explained that, they were not disturbed by the earlier ruling of the High Court to dismiss their application.
He added that in dismissing their application, the court directed them to pursue their substantive case at the Appeals Court, because the High Court did not have the jurisdiction to hear it.
He said the substantive case with the GFA was at the Appeals Court and that they were preparing very well for it.
“The ruling said since we have appealed so we should go on with the appeal. What the Judge is saying, is he sat on of the first case and by the nature of the nature of the appeal filed is such that it leaves him with no jurisdiction to deal with the matter.
“Now we had to come to him because that is what the rule says. What he has done is a proper law. What he has said is that we should go ahead and pursue our matter in the Appeals Court ,” Mr Bentil said.
