Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has told the Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) to be proactive by communicating clearly to the general public on the power situation at every stage of the development while stakeholder work in unison to solve the challenge.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh made the call when he and the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, took an official tor of the GRIDCo office in Tema on the outskirts of Accra.
The company sees to the dispatch and transmission of electricity from wholesale suppliers and management has been working around the clock to recent transmission challenges that have led to power outages that have vexed the public.
On Tuesday morning, Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, took working tour of the Ghana Grid Company Ltd GRIDCo in Tema. The company sees to the dispatch and transmission of electricity from wholesale suppliers.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, during the meeting with management of GRIDCo, underscored the importance of unity of purpose among the management team.
According to the Minister for Energy, he was encouraged by their hard work and commitment to duty.
In his address to the media, Dr. Opoku Prempeh asked Ghanaians to bear with the situation whilst GRIDCo continues to work hard to mitigate these transmission constraints.
The two ministers subsequently visited a GRIDCo project site where contractors were resolving transmission constraints in the system.
