Gunmen Attack Appiah Stadium, Burns His House & Car
SOME UNKNOWN people have allegedly set the plush mansion of Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, on fire.
The unknown attackers, who are still at large, reportedly fired several gunshots into Appiah’s house during Monday dawn’s attack.
Appiah Stadium, a known National Democratic Congress (NDC) serial caller, is a dire-in-the-wool supporter of former President John Dramani Mahama in Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti region.
The attack resulted in parts of Appiah’s newly-built house and a Toyota 4×4 vehicle, with registration number AS 2233-16, partially burnt.
According to Appiah, he was in the house with his wife and two children, including a four-month baby, when the fully armed men popped in.
He told newsmen that the attackers threw bottles filled with petrol into the house before setting it ablaze.
Even before investigations could start, Appiah, without producing any shred of evidence, said he suspected members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being behind the attack because he heard some of the attackers yelling that they would kill him (Appiah) for recently verbally attacking President Akufo-Addo.
The Criminal Investigations Department [CID] of the Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region has since begun investigations into the suspected case of arson.
