Gunmen Kill 2 Kids In Kintampo

Two children have been shot dead in a suspected gun attack at Krabonso-Adiambra in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East region.

The incident occurred on Monday, at about 1pm when the duo were on the farm with their relatives.

They are Gabriel Yinye, 10 and Kanto Yinye, 9 both primary one pupils at Adiambra D/A primary school.

The two reportedly left their relatives in search of fruits when they were shot by the unidentified assailants.

Gabriel died instantly at the crime scene after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

His body has since been deposited at the Kintampo Government Hospital morgue.

Kanto who was in critical condition was referred to the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman about an hour drive from the Kintampo Government Hospital where he was initially sent for treatment.

Nurses on duty at the time said the referral was necessitated by a revelation through X-ray that there were about ten pellets in Kanto’s body, six of which were located in his pelvis, two in his chest and two in one of his arms.

Kanto was, however, died yesterday morning by medics at the facility.
