GWCL MD Not Sacked: Adda

The Managing Director (MD) of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) is still at post, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Kofi Adda, has said.

Mr Adda explained that the MD has not been relieved of his duties hence the public should disregard any information circulating on social media to the contrary.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, 6 June 2018, Mr Adda said reports of Dr Clifford Braimah’s dismissal are “totally false and have no basis whatsoever”.

Mr Adda’s clarification comes on the heels of President Akufo-Addo’s dismissal of four heads of parastatals simultaneously on Wednesday, 6 June.

They include CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Gifty Klenam; Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) CEO Paul Asare Ansah; Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST) Company, Alfred Obeng Boateng; and CEO of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Felix Anyah.
