Gyan, Atsu Doubtful For Egypt Game
IT LOOKS like the Black Stars will face the Pharaohs of Egypt minus Captain Asamoah Gyan and winger, Christian Atsu.
The two integral members of the senior national soccer team have suffered pesky injuries so they might be overlooked during selection.
Ibrahim Sanni Diarra, who confirmed the injuries to the media, said the two players need late clearance by the medical team before they could play.
According to him, Asamoah Gyan sustained a thigh injury at training so he requires an MRI scan.
The GFA Spokesperson said the results of the scan would determine whether Gyan would be in action or not.
On the part of Atsu, he disclosed that the winger has a thigh problem and the medical team would assess him to see if he is fit for the game.
Gyan and Atsu are key players of the Black Stars so their absence would be a huge blow to the team.
The senior national team is camping in preparation for the match against the Pharaohs which will be played in Kumasi on Sunday.
