Gyan Eulogizes Levante Striker, Boateng
Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has heaped praises on Levante striker Emmanuel Boateng.
The 21-year-old hogged the Spanish tabloids with his terrific performance for UD Levante in their 5-4 win over FC Barcelona in the Spanish LaLiga at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia – where netted a hat-trick.
The former Morierense forward’s impressive season has gone unnoticed as he’s been handed his debut call-up to Ghana’s national team to play in this month’s friendlies.
In the wake of his hat-trick against the Blaugrana, Boateng expressed his readiness to become a mainstay in the Black Stars team during an interview on Hot FM- claiming that he will score goals but would also assist other strikers like Jordan Ayew and Asamoah to flourish.
In reacting to Boateng’s claim on the same platform, Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan, commended the in-form hitman, though he stated that he’s yet to have a direct contact with him.
“I don’t really know Emmanuel Boateng personally but have seen him in Ghana,” Gyan stated on Hot FM.
“I have been monitoring him at Levante for some time now and I can say he is a good player.”
“I watched the game against Barcelona also and he proved to be that strong and energetic player. I saw him some few months ago, his power is his strong mark and very good at taking on defenders.”
Boateng has registered seven goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for the Frogs.
