Haruna Iddrisu commends Akufo-Addo
The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has commended government for launching of the National Public Sector Reform Strategy (NPSRS) and called for an annual event to access and review fundamental achievement made in respect of the public sector reforms.
He emphasized the need for Ghanaians public servants to support government to confront the political reality and he described the reality as bloated public service and had gone beyond the quantitative and qualitative reforms as compare to other Countries.
Speaking at the launch of the National Public Sector Reforms Strategy, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, Mr Haruna Iddrisu was optimistic that the president will give opportunity to all to measure visible and mountable outcomes.
The NPSRS, to run from 2018 through to 2023, would review and modernize the current structures, systems, processes and internal management functions of the sector, to enable it support government’s development priorities.
The five-year National Public Sector Reform Strategy (NPSRS) will eradicate poor public service delivery in the country.
The goal of the National Public Sector Reform Strategy, 2018 to 2023, is to enhance service delivery to citizens and the private sector.
Mr Haruna Iddrisu added, “…The size of the government – we need as a country to take a collective consensual position on the size of government in Ghana, and it should be by legislation and supported by two thirds majority of parliament, that at no point again in our country’s history will we accept Ministers exceeding 65, and it should run for all governments and for all Presidents.”
