Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have confirmed the exit of Serbian coach Kosta Papic after just 78 days in charge.
The Serbian trainer replaced Edward Odoom in November for a second stint and led the team to 10 matches in the Ghanaian Premier League where he won four, drew three and lost three.
Papic cited personal reasons for his decision and turned down several pleas from board members on Monday to stay.
“My reasons are partly personal. [It is] also due to the fact that I am not getting the desired and needed results. I have no hope that it is going to change,” the coach was quoted as saying in the club’s press release.
Hearts have also lost Ben Owu, the goalkeeper’s trainer, who tendered his resignation as well.
Owu joined the Hearts of Oak in December 2019 from AshantiGold SC after his four year spell with the Miners came to an end.
He has rich experience on the local scene having been goalkeepers’ coach for Sekondi Hasaacas, Medeama SC and King Faisal Babes.
Owu becomes the 3rd person to leave his post in the Hearts of Oak technical department as assistant coach Asare Bediako also resigned last week.
The team will now be handled by Samuel Nii Noi, the current U15 coach of the club until a new manager is appointed.
The Accra-based side are currently 11th on the log with 17 points
