GLORIOUS HEARTS of Oak are now virtually ‘homeless’ as they cannot use the Accra Sports Stadium for their home games in the coming season, which is some weeks away.
The nation’s Wembley is said to be in deplorable state currently, hence the need for the facility to be rehabilitated without delay.
Reports monitored by THE PUBLISHER SPORTS indicate that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has already given the stadium’s rehabilitation works on contract.
The contract was said to have been awarded last week, and the contractor is expected to move to site to very soon.
In this regard, Hearts of Oak, who have over the years used the stadium as their home grounds, cannot access the facility this time around.
The paper gathered from close sources at the ministry that Hearts’ management has already been informed about the new arrangement.
The club has been told to search for a new venue until the rehabilitation works are completed.
Similar message had been conveyed to the management of Inter Allies, who also wanted to use the stadium for their home matches, the paper has been told.
