A recorded audio purported to be the voice of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills making what has been described as slanderous comments about the person of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asamtehene, has provoked the anger of the various Asante Union and groups who have laced boots to take him on this morning at a jointly organized press conference in Kumasi at the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs.
Bishop Dag, the founder of the United Denominations Church originating from the Lighthouse Group Of Churches, was said to have made the said comments during a meeting with senior pastors of his church.
Unfortunately for Dag Heward-Mills some of his pastors were said to have secretly recorded his voice, which has since gone viral on social media and sparked some uproar.
THE NEW PUBLISHER has gathered that the press conference, a brainchild of the Kumasi Youth Association (KUYA), would be used by the groups to respond to the comments made by the celebrated Man of God.
The groups insist the apparent attack on the person of the Asante leader is an indictment on Asanteman and would therefore delve into the content, context and true meaning as well as implications of the comments from Bishop Dag.
The full content of what would be put out by the Asante groups today was not known to the paper as at the time this report was being filed.
But close sources in the group said the Asante groups would use today’s press conference to address Dag Heward-Mills.
