High court judge issues new summons against Kennedy Agyapong
The failure of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, to appear before the Accra High Court to show cause why he should not be punished for contempt has pushed for another order.
Mr Agyapong, who is alleged to have described a Justice of the High court, Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni, as “stupid”, failed to show up in court Monday, [September 14, 2020].
His lawyers filed an application that Mr Agyapong was not personally served with the first order dated September 9, 2020, for him to appear before the court.
The court said…”That being the current state of affairs regarding the service of order to appear in court, service of the order will be made by substituted service in the following manner;
“By posting a copy of the order and the court’s summons to show cause issued on Sept 9 to be served on the said Kenneddy Ohene Agyapong to appear before this court on the notice board of the High Court, Land Division, Law Court Complex.
“By posting a copy of the order together with the hearing notice on a conspicuous part of Net 2 TV and Oman FM stations, Holywood Building, Medina Zongo Junction, Accra.”
The court said the order “shall remain posted for three days (returnable on Friday Sept 18).”
The suit has however been adjourned to Friday, Sept 18, 2020.
