Hold a national durbar to celebrate Shatta Wale – Pundit tells Tourism Ministry
Entertainment pundit, Kwasi Ernest says the Tourism Ministery should hold a National Durbar to celebrate Shatta Wale’s latest feat.
According to him, like government organised an elaborate funeral for George Floyd who wasn’t even killed in Ghana, there’s the need for government to do something similar to celebrate Shatta Wale for featuring on Beyonce’s latest project.
To him, the government through the Tourism, Creative Arts Ministry should place more emphasis on the achievement of the Ghanaian musician because it’s no small achievement.
“I was even thinking that the Minister for Tourism will do a durbar or a breakfast meeting on this one, assemble all of us for us to spend two days to celebrate this one. Because you remember when the Black man died, that man in America died there was a funeral so why could we celebrate death and when there is something big like this, the Ministry cannot do anything.
“I’m Ministry should herald this one as Christmas and celebrate the young man because this is a bigger achievement. I was hoping they will use it as a clapper board to push it further to strengthen the Creative Arts and even do something. If I’m a Minister, this is political for me. If I’m a Minister, I should be able to use this one to champion my existence in that office, that when I came something of this sort happened but no one is talking.”
