In a dramatic twist of events, it has become evident that the images recently put out in the public, purported to be the true likeness of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, is a pure case of identity theft and public deceit.
The person in those photos, have popped up and identified himself as Patrick Marcelino, a Brazilian model and blogger who has zero links to Ghana or Anas Aremeyaw Anas for that matter.
Patrick Marcelino has complained that whoever put out his photos and claimed they were photos of Anas has actually put him in danger and cost his modeling career some major setbacks.
The Brazilian model, in an audiovisual message which he published on social media has threatened to take legal action over the matter.
Here are transcripts of what Patrick Marcelino said in the video message he published over the matter:
“…He came up with my picture and put up my picture and showed to the whole country of Ghana that I am Anas. Listen, I have never been to Ghana. How can I be Anas? I am not affiliated with no political parties, I don’t like politics, I don’t like gossips, all those things, I don’t like.
“Now because of this whole shit, my whole career is in danger. I am about to make some big steps and now these guys are just freaking around with my pictures and whatever. One more time to all the people of Ghana, I AM NOT ANAS. I am Patrick Marcelino. You can check me out on the internet or wherever google me. Check me out on YouTube, on Instagram, on whatever, I am not Anas.
“This would not be without any precautions, I would take he legal steps that have to be taken to set this thing right. And you better know that all of the words that are coming out of my mouth now are very serious.
“I just want to apologize to all the people of Ghana that got this misinformation, bad information, wrong information and are thinking right now that “oh we know who Anas is right now”.
“I don’t care about the image of whoever this Anas (SIC) be. But it is not me and I am apologizing because I love the homeland, I love Africa and this is something that is putting me in a very bad situation. Because if I wanted to go to Ghana right now, I gonna watch my arse. I gonna watch my arse for all kind of political parties and people that are supporters of political parties. I would not be sure of my life. So please people of Ghana, look at this face, you see me? Patrick Marcelino, have Dutch, half Brazilian, I am no Ghanaian…. If you want to choose somebody, choose somebody with less followers, somebody who is already dead.”
