I Control NDC …Wontumi Brags

Loudmouthed Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has alleged that, even though he is a key member of the ruling party, he has a great influence and control over the largest opposition political party in the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, his influence in NDC extends to virtually all the national executives of the party, many of who respect and carry out his instructions with alacrity.

He bragged that even former President John Dramani Mahama is aware of his (Wontumi’s) enormous control over the NDC national executives.

“I have absolute control over the opposition NDC, not in the Ashanti Region alone but even at the national level as well.

“You can ask John Mahama. He is aware of the control that I have in the NDC, especially on the national executives of the party. This is not bragging, I am being honest and telling the gospel truth here.

“I am so powerful in the NDC that even when a pin drops in the party’s headquarters in Accra, even though I live in Kumasi, I will be aware. Don’t joke with me in Ghana politics”, Wontumi boasted during an interview with Kofi Asante of Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

He boasted further: “The NDC executives at the national level cannot disobey me, they take instructions from me and they act as I want. I am the governor of Ghana politics and I will continue to dominate and control the NDC for many years to come”.

Giving a clue of what he was alleging, Wontumi said “I predicted that Masawudu Mubarick would be disqualified from the Asawase NDC polls some months ago, and they have acted just as I said”.

It would be recalled that, Yamoah Ponkoh recently alleged that some executives of the NDC in the Ashanti Region were on the payroll of Wontumi, who he claimed, was virtually controlling the country.

Ponkoh’s allegations are reported to have incurred the wrath of the Ashanti Regional Executives of the NDC, headed by Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews.

Wontumi’s allegations are likely to send shockwaves across the entire national political landscape.
