I don’t own Sompa FM & TV – Kyei Mensa Bonsu

The Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has refuted claims in the public domain describing him as the owner of Teraone Media – operators of Sompa TV, Sompa 93.1 FM in Kumasi, Sompaonline.com and Sompa 98.9 in Sunyani.

The ownership of media conglomerate, has over the past months been a subject of discussion, many people in diverse opinion asserted that the Suame lawmaker owned the media firm, with other names mentioned as well.

Reacting to the news, Hon. Osei Kyei described the development as untrue, indicating that, he is not privy to the ownership of the station.

“Today is my first visit to your studios, as it has been speculated all over that I owned this media firm, as you rightly said, it is just a coincidence because I have been enstooled as the Sompahene and the station also bears the name “sompa” so people perceived the thought that it is mine, I have no idea of whom the station owner is, I only know you (referring to Omanhene Adu Boakye) as the host of the morning show and nothing else” he revealed.

Management of the station in a separate interview with the paper, called on the general public to disregard the unfounded allegations in the public domain that the promising station belongs to Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu because it is situated in Suame and has some political dimension.

According to the management, the public should focus on the good programs the station is bringing on board in shaping the national discourse and promoting socio- economic development as with time, the true owners will be known.

“Kyei Mensah Bonsu, One Achamfour, tabeaa herbal company and owners of 2M express are not the owners of Sompa FM as it is alleged. Time will tell for you to know the true owners of the station but currently our major focus is to build a solid brand. We assure the general public to expect something different and great from the good contents the station is about bringing. We have quality program outlines for our discerning listeners and viewers on all our social media platforms. We are determined to serve our people well” the managing director, Mr Collins Amo Poku said.
