A dispute has arisen between music producer Poppin and Kwame Yogot regarding the ownership of Kuami Eugene’s latest song, “Canopy.”
Kuami Eugene, in the aftermath of his accident, released the track to express gratitude for his life and emphasize his belief in divine protection.
However, Kwame Yogot asserts that the song was meant to be a collaboration between them and expresses surprise that Kuami Eugene excluded his verse and released it without his consent.
In a circulating video, Poppin, the producer who contributed to the song, refutes Kwame Yogot’s claim of ownership. Poppin asserts that the song rightfully belongs to Kuami Eugene, thereby invalidating Yogot’s criticism of the artist for removing his verse and releasing the song independently.
Poppin further suggests that Kuami Eugene should consider legal action against Kwame Yogot for damaging his reputation.
He emphasizes that Yogot’s assertions are unfounded and urges him to think about the consequences of his actions.
“You know the song is not yours, and you have no idea about the song. Me, who is the producer, I’ve not spoken. Making people post these things is not good.
You should think about the future and stop doing this thing. If I were Eugene, I would have sued you. You are a big brother, so think about what you do and the effects,” Poppin stated.
