I Have No State Land – Sylvester Mensah Refutes Report
Aspiring NDC flagbearer, Mr. Sylvester Mensah, has denied the claims of him benefitting from the acquisition of government lands.
He dismissed the news report which included him in a list of individuals who bought state lands and described the story as a ‘failed mischief’.
Refuting the allegations, he asserted that he never applied for, nor was he ever granted any parcel of State land for his personal or family use. He pointed out that as a native of La, the custodians of some of the most valuable lands in Accra, he has no reason to seek to acquire State lands for his personal or family use.
A list of over 416 individuals, mostly former government officials, as well as public institutions were reported to have allocated state lands between 2009 and 2016.
The list included Ex-president John Agyekum Kufuor, the late Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, KT Hammond, Ex-president John Rawlings, Former Chair of the NDC Dr Kwabena Adjei, the past CEO of the NHIA, Dr Sylvester Mensah, Lee Ocran, former CEO of COCOBOD, the former National Security Coordinator, and Chairperson of Caridem.
The report which was carried out by Joy News claimed that the officials acquired state lands in luxurious areas such as Airport Residential Area, North Ridge, East Legon Switch Backroad, at meagre prices.
