PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo insists the constant bashing by his detractors in the media would not let him lose his focus in developing the country.
He said after over 40 years in active politics, he had developed a thick skin and a big heart to deal with verbal attacks by political opponents.
“I have thick skin and so the verbal lashes by the naysayers, who have decided to close their eyes on the numerous positive policies by my government, will not change my focus.
“I am focused on properly developing the country to help Ghana to overcome its challenges, such as adverse poverty and diseases, and so their attacks on me will not change my focus”.
The president said since he was sure he was on the right track, all attempts by his detractors to pull him back would not work.
According to him, even though the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government came to meet a distressed economy, his government had still delivered oh his promises.
He enumerated several social intervention policies that his government had introduced, especially the free Senior High School (SHS) policy, and stressed that nothing would stop him from realizing his mission.
He was thankful that Ghanaians were discerning people who would not easily be deceived by cheap stomach politics.
The president, who was speaking during his working visit to the Ashanti region, was of the view that his agenda to make Ghana a better place would be fulfilled for all to see.
