I Know Top Gays in NDC- Hopeson Adorye
Outspoken member of the New Patriotic Party’s communications team, Mr Hopeson Adorye, has launched yet another searing attack on the National Democratic Party (NDC), describing some of its members as “gays”.
In what appears to be a scathing claim, Mr. Adorye maintained that he had a list of top NDC officials whose sexual orientations were unnatural.
In an interview with Accra based Okay FM, he threatened to make public those names of gays and lesbians in the NDC if they did not stop badmouthing the President, Nana Akufo-Addo on his stand on gay rights.
This agonizing claim comes after the United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister, Theresa May, told African leaders at the Commonwealth heads of government meeting in London that it is wrong for homosexuals to be persecuted for their sexual orientation.
According to her, UK was ready to help African countries to reform their laws to accommodate the interest of homosexuals.
It is the hope of Ghanaians―with the NDC leading the front, that the president would quickly respond to Britain’s proposal and clearly state his stand on the said efforts by foreign investor to woo Ghana to the side of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT).
But Mr Adorye says it is not necessary for the President to speak about the issue, since his stand was already clear.
He argued that the bible frowns upon unnatural carnal knowledge and since the president is a Christian, that is also his stand.
Mr. Adorye said the NDC were hypocrites to pretend as though the legalisation of the LGBT rights would not be beneficial to them.
“Don’t we know what’s happening in this country and the men who were sleeping with each other at that Castle that generated issues? We are warning them, they should stop it if not we will begin to mention the names of those people involved in Gayism,” he threatened.
Mr. Adorye continued: “What are they saying into the ears of Ghanaians. If we make those names public, Ghanaians will know who the gay people are in this country. If we change the laws to support the gays in Ghana, is it not the NDC that would benefit?”
Gayism is criminal in Ghana under section 104 of the criminal Code (Act 29), which criminalizes unnatural carnal knowledge.
