I Never Called Kuami Eugene A Thief – Kofi Kinaata
Contrary to earlier reports that, musician Kofi Kinaata has alluded and called on his colleague musician kuami Eugene to desist from ‘stealing’ songs from other Artistes and claiming it his, he has finally responded to such claims calling it false.
In a recent interview on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra with Dr. Cann, he debunked such reports indicating he never called Kwami Eugene a thief.
“I never said Kuami Eugene stole songs. It’s the reporters who twisted what I said. The headlines did not carry what I said in the interview right. Initially, I did not want to answer the question but the interviewer kept on pushing.
“What I remember saying was that we as musicians think alike and sometimes its a coincidence. Some of it can be attributed to sampling. But when you take a lesser known song and don’t declare it then it might look some way.” – he said.
According to him, he can’t and won’t call on his colleague musician as a thief. However he explained, sampling are done everywhere and added that, is normal for such initiative to be done.
Kinaata just returned from his Europe tour where he performed in Germany, France, Italy, Netherland and Belgium.
