“I Am Not Interested In Football Again” — Kwasi Appiah
Former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah, says he’s not interested in football at the moment and do not want to know anything about it.
The former Ghana international’s last managerial job was with the Black Stars but his contract was not renewed upon expiry last year December.
He has since been rumoured to have contacts in Sudan but no official information has come out.
Speaking to Wontumi TV, the 60-year-old ex-defender said his concentration is on other things and added that in the long run, he do not know what might happen but at the moment he’s not interested in football.
“Now, I am not interested in football, my concentration is on other things”, he told Wontumi TV.
“Although I don’t know what will happen in the future but I don’t want to know anything about football for now.”
Appiah coached Ghana between 2017 and 2019, his second spell at the helm of affairs.
His contract was not renewed beyond December 2019 following his team’s disappointing showing at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in June/July 2019 where the Black Stars exited the competition in Egypt at the Round of 16 stage.
It was the first time the West Africans failed to reach the quarter-final of the continental gathering since 2006.
