Deputy Black Stars captain Kwadwo Asamoah says he didn’t have the best of game against Cameroon on Saturday.
Despite calls for him to be included in the starting line up after his snub in the Benin game, the Inter Milan ace failed to justify his inclusion in the 0-0 draw versus the defending champions.
The 30 year old midfielder struggled to have any real impact against the Indomitable Lions and was substituted in the 78th minute.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Asamoah confessed he didn’t enjoy playing in an unfamiliar left midfield role.
”It wasn’t the best game for me because I know what I can do when I play my normal position. I had difficulties in terms of possession but I did okay defensively.
“I was playing from left wing which I’m not so comfortable with but I’m so happy about the result because I tried to do my best for the team” he said.
Meanwhile the Black Stars of Ghana have left their base in Ismailia to Suez, where they are billed to play Guinea-Bissau in a must-win last Group F encounter at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Group F had been based on Ismailia but because both last group matches have to be played concurrently, Ghana’s game with Guinea Bissau has been moved to Suez, a 2 hour drive from Ismailia.
Ghana will now need to beat Guinea Bissau on Tuesday to progress to the last 16 of the competition.
