Ghanaian singer, Jane Awindor, popularly known as Efya has said that she would love to collaborate with an Indian artiste.
Efya who recently released ‘The One’ with Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage also revealed on Citi FM’s Brunch in the Citi with AJ Sarpong that she is going to embark on a lot of international collaborations because that is the way to get into other music markets.
She advised Ghanaian artistes to do songs with Nigerian artistes because they have a vibrant music industry and they have the numbers to push brands and maximise returns.
When asked if she would also want to do music with artistes from South Africa, the ‘Until the Dawn’ singer still said she would also want to have a feel of the Indian vibe.
“I want to make music with Indian artistes,” she told AJ, adding that she likes Indian music.
Apart from the Indian artistes, she said she would also want to do songs with Stevie Wonder, Daniel Caesar and Snow.
Efya, real name Jane Awindor came onto the scene through the Charterhouse organised Stars of the Future. She emerged second-runner up in the very first edition and teamed up with the winner Irene Logan to form the group, Irene and Jane.
After a couple of releases, Efya went solo and rebranded as Efya. She has released many hit singles including Best In Me, Until The Dawn, Little Things, Forgetting Me, One Of Your Own, Get Away among others.
For four consecutive years between 2009-2013, Efya won Female Vocalist of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards.
Efya released her debut album Janesis on April 22, 2016. The 21-track album features collaborations with Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Bisa Kdei, Ice Prince, Mugeez, and E.L.
