‘I Will Die If I Fight Bastie Again’ – Bukom Banku
Popular Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku has refused calls for a rematch between himself and rival boxer Bastie Samir.
According to him, he is scared he would either suffer a stroke or die after the fight.
Speaking in an interview with Halifax Ansah-Addo on Okay FM last Monday, Braimah Kamoko stated categorically that, the rematch is very unlikely to happen because of health reasons.
“…I don’t understand, Bastie is short… But when I enter the ring Bastie is bigger than me. I asked my coach whether that was Bastie. They want me to lose the fight because I beat people by heart in the nation. Ghanaians they beat me, what again?. When I fight Bastie a second time when I no get the stroke, I die (sic).
“I still think about that from 2 years ago and I still do not understand how I lost to Bastie because I believed that he was not match for me. However, I was scared at the time of the bout because I almost suffered a stroke that night.
”That night at the arena, everything was in Bastie’s corner. Even the mineral water being sold was supporting Bastie. Millions of people supported him while I had only five people going for me. Should I face Bastie again, I will either suffer a stroke or I will die.” he stated.
