IGP tours Ashanti Region

THE IGP, Mr. David Asante-Apeatu, has embarked on an extensive tour of the Ashanti Region with some of his lieutenants.

The police chief’s visit was geared towards updating him on the current security situation in the region.

As part of the tour, Asante-Apeatu and his men visited Asante Mampong and Mamponteng, among other places.

They also toured some of the major highways that are considered as armed robbery-prone areas that needed security beef-up.

The IGP was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Mensah Duku and other top police officers.

He urged the public to team up with the police so that issues of armed robberies and other violent crimes would be defeated. He also assured that his administration would provide the necessary logistics and equipment to enable the police serve them better.

According to him, there are plans to increase the police workforce in the country so that crime would be reduced to minimum levels.
