I’m A Bad Girl Only In Music – Chikel Baibe
Hakel Entertainment signee, Chikel Baibe, who has gained notoriety for doing songs with sexually suggestive lyrics, and is perceived as a bad girl, says people have gotten her wrong.
Responding to questions from renowned media personalities at the premiere of her new music, which featured one of Ghana’s dope rap kings, Teephlow, the budding new female artiste said she is a very good person.
”No, I am not a bad girl as a person. I do only bad things in music. Music has been my thing since infancy. The beauty of music is to bring to life words for good meaning and understanding. I must go all out in my music, including videos, to enable people relate to the things I bring out,” she said.
According to her, musicians don’t spill words for spilling sake, adding that ”as an artiste, I take my research seriously, I sing to current trend, what is happening to enable my fans move with it”.
In a separate interview with The New Publisher, Baibe expressed worry over the wrong perception people have about musicians.
”It saddens me that sometimes you hear a female artiste who is really good; her lyrics are on point, her performances are amazing, but because of how she dresses or her branding, people ignore all the good things in her and chastise her. It is sad, not fair and I urge everybody to be tolerant,” she indicated.
According to her, the way society is judgmental of female acts, especially when it comes to their appearance, is unfair adding that, ”every artiste wants to be different so if it is through how they dress, then they should be allowed to.”
Her new song, ‘My Time’, she explains talks about loyalty and respect in all forms of relationships, friendship, work, family and love, and was produced by award winning engineer – Danny Beatz.
The premiere saw top players in the entertainment and show business, such as Sammy Flex, Mzgee, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, blogger Zionfelix, Nkonkonsa and Pep Junia in attendance.
